The State Government of Telangana, founded the Telangana Building & Other Construction Workers Welfare Board in 1996.

For the purpose of developing and enforcing welfare programs for construction workers in Telangana, the Telangana Building & Other Construction Workers Welfare Board was established in accordance with Section 18 of the Building & Other Construction Workers (RE&CS) Act. 

The Board commenced operations on September 17, 2014. The Telangana Building & Other Construction Workers Welfare Board consists of worker representatives, employer representatives, and government representatives. The Board has carried out extensive campaigns and registered more than 8.85 lakh construction workers as beneficiaries. Additionally, it has formulated and is implementing numerous schemes, such as marriage gift, maternity benefit, fatal accident relief, disability relief, natural death relief, hospitalisation relief, funeral expenses, and pension scheme (NPS).
